COCHIN

Kochi (colonial name Cochin) is a vibrant city situated on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, hailed as 'God's Own Country'. Its strategic importance over the centuries is underlined by the sobriquet Queen of the Arabian Sea. Informally, Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala.

MUNNAR

Munnar is the nature-lover’s paradise. Snuggling in the green and serene Kannan Devan Hills lies the quiet and restful resort of Munnar. Panoramic views of low-flying clouds and mist filled valleys make it a pretty little heaven with a cool bracing climate. It was opened up out of virgin forests a century ago by pioneering planters. Within its remote and elderly churches - gracious, stone-structures with ancient chandeliers and rosewood pews. A little beyond lies Anaimudi, South India's highest peak. THEKKADY

Periyar forest of Thekkady is well known for wild life sanctuary, situated on the banks of Periyar Lake and also known for diversity of wildlife and scenic beauty, which attracts visitors from all over the world. It is situated on the high ranges of the Western Ghats which is covered by dense evergreen forests and savannah grass land. The Periyar wild life sanctuary offers a fairy good chance to seeing the herds of elephants, sambars, tigers, gaurs, lion tailed macaques & Nilgiri langurs in its natural habitat. Spread across an area of 777 sq. km of which 360 sq. km is thick ever green forest. In 1978 Periyar wildlife sanctuary was declared a Tiger reserve. Interestingly Periyar is often referred to Thekkady and as Kumily. These names are used interchangeably for the same area, however this can be a little confusing. To put it clearly The Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve lie in Thekkady which is an area in the town of Kumily.

ALLEPPEY

Also called Alappuzha, Alleppey is a pleasant easy-going market town surrounded by coconut plantations. With its large network of canals, it is a major center for backwater cruises and the venue for spectacular snake boat races. Also called “Venice of the East”, the town is the headquarters of Kerala’s coir industry and also important for cashew nut processing. Climb aboard the traditional kettuvallams (riceboats) converted into houseboats with bedrooms and attached toilets. Originally these boats were used as ferries to carry rice. Cruise through the backwaters of Kerala. Houseboat is one of the 50 “must do” things as described by the National Geographic Traveller magazine. The backwater cruise through the narrow canals that criss-cross a typical Kerala Village, rich with green paddy fields and verdant coconut trees and is a thrilling experience. The boat cruise takes you to small islets tucked away amidst those waters where you get glimpses of village at the best of its serenity and innocence. Lunch and dinner will be served on board.

This is the place where you will see the mighty Idukki Arch Dam and its Reservoir from one of the highest points .The verdant greenery and the cool refreshing air floating around the landscape and surrounding touches the depth of your heart in no time .You can distant views of herd of elephant way down the mountain and elephant swimming the islets in the reservoir.

RAMAKKALMEDU

Ramakkalmedu is one of the most windy places in Asia, and also kerala huge wind energy project located here , it is lying on the kerala tamilnadu border and close to chellarkovil , Ramakkalmedu offers the fabulous vistas of the tamil local .From here, one can enjoy the panoramic view of the picturesque villages of Bodi and Cumbum ,the brown grounds crisscrossed by roads and lush green vistas.On the open meadows of the mount stand two huge statue of a Kuravan - Kurathi and their Child .

ANCHURULI TUNNEL

It is an emerging tourist destination and a catchment area of Idukki Arch dam .It is noted for the 4 Km long circular tunnel Carries water to Idukki Reservoir

AYYAPPANKOVIL HANGING BRIDGE ( THUKKUPALAM )

The suspension bridge Ayyapan Kovil is the Longest hanging bridge in entire Kerala . The Dam reservoir and periyar River add to the beauty of the bridge . while you take a walk on the bridge you will be left away with the beauty of the pristine green surroundings.

CUMBUM VALLEY -TAMILNADU

Cumbum valley – Popular amid the tourist as a favourite and frequently visited tourist destination, cumbum valley is a well liked place which has attained the status of a well liked tourist Hub. driving through the cumbum valley is the mix of picturesque spots & adventures like hair pin bends, narrow steeps, Eraichal bridge water fall, Lower Periyar Power Station , thick forest, grape plantations and vegetable farms.

It is also known as the “ Kodaikkanal Of Kerala’’ .There are some typical tribal peoples lives with in the depth of the forest who don’t like to be visible for out side people .The Malayalam word ‘ Parunthu ’ means Eagle’ .Being at this place you will get an eagle view of the dark forest and low lying green land .The bird Eagle is well known for its sharp sightedness . This place is also famous among the devotees of the great Temple ‘SABARIMALA’ for they can watch clearly The ‘’ Makara vilakku ’ ( auspicious jyothi or Light ) form here.
